Custom Football Shorts Checkerboard Band Detail
Look closely at the band and it is not a printed stripe. Two rows of blocks alternate navy and yellow, and each row is offset against the other, so the repeat reads as a basket weave rather than a square grid. A narrow navy edge closes the band at the bottom, which keeps the pattern from running straight off the hem.

The band does not stop at the seam. It runs the whole way round, front and back, at the same height and the same two-row weave, so the hem closes as a loop with no beginning and no end.
